Steven J. Better
Steven is responsible for credit underwriting and risk evaluation of acquisitions involving Global Bankers Capital’s affiliated credits. Prior to joining GBC, Steven was an underwriter & credit associate with Wells Fargo’s Wealth & Investment Group (WIM) focused on custom credits, servicing the bank’s high net worth clients. Before entering the Wealth Management space, Steven was a credit analyst in Wells Fargo’s Capital Finance group, the asset based lending arm of the bank, where he was responsible for analyzing traditional asset-based revolvers, specialized junior and senior secured loans. Steven received a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Masters of Finance with a focus on real estate development from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed a formal credit training program with Wells Fargo.
Eric BosticPortfolio Analyst
Eric assists in the sourcing of investments and in the funding process for acquisitions for Global Bankers Capital. He also provides analysis and due diligence for the management of our affiliated insurance companies’ investment portfolios. Before joining the Global Bankers team, Eric worked for LPL Financial as a due diligence analyst responsible for the research of third party investment managers. Prior to LPL Financial, he was with The Vanguard Group where he served in various roles involving analysis and due diligence.
Managing Director, Originations
Seth is responsible for business development and originations, and has significant experience in leveraged finance and investment banking. He was most recently a Managing Director at RLJ Credit Management, where he led the firm’s business development efforts. Prior to RLJ Credit, Seth worked at Perseus Finance as a Managing Director and MetLife as an Associate Director in the Mezzanine Equity Finance Group, principally focused on sourcing, underwriting, executing, and monitoring mezzanine investments and fund investments within the Alternative Investments Unit. Prior to MetLife, Seth worked in The 1818 SBIC Fund of Brown Brothers Harriman. Earlier in his career, Seth worked as an investment banker with Mesirow Financial as a Credit Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group at LaSalle Bank, a subsidiary of ABN-AMRO Bank. Seth holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
Senior Vice President
Albert is responsible for credit underwriting and execution at Global Bankers Capital. Prior to joining GBC, Albert was a Vice President focused on executing private equity investments at EF Capital Management, a Texas based family office. Before EF Capital, he was a Vice President and Senior Research Analyst at Bowery Investment Management, a middle market credit hedge fund, where he was responsible for analyzing high yield and distressed credit investments. Albert began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Lehman Brothers. Albert received a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, and a MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Samer Khatib Associate
Samer is responsible for underwriting credit investments. He was most recently an Investment Banking Associate in the Leveraged Finance group at Deutsche Bank, where he evaluated and executed debt transactions supporting leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate refinancings across a variety of industries. Mr. Khatib received a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan Flagler Business School.
CEO / Global Head of Credit
Rob manages Global Bankers Capital and oversees all credit investment activities on behalf of Eli Global. Prior to Global Bankers Capital, he was employed by Intermediate Capital Group where he sourced and invested in middle market private debt and equity investments through establishing a North American Credit opportunity fund to expand the company’s global presence. Mr. Kiesel was also a Managing Partner at Hunting Dog Capital, a private investment firm focusing on rescue financings to lower and middle market borrowers in the U.S. Previously in his career, Rob was also one of four original partners and was on the investment committee of Fifth Street Capital, a private investment company focused on sourcing and financing transactions in the middle market. His roles included oversight of deal origination, evaluation and execution of investments, sourcing of capital for the funds, and building out the regional offices. Prior to joining Fifth Street Capital, he was a Principal at ORIX USA where he originated and managed the mezzanine efforts on behalf of ORIX Merchant Banking. His career began at Merrill Lynch as an Investment Banking Analyst in their Merchant Banking Group. Rob received his B.A. in Economics from Yale University and his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Abhijnan MajumderCredit Specialist
Abhijnan joined Global Bankers Capital in 2018 with over 10 years of experience in credit analysis and portfolio management. At Global Bankers Capital, Abhijnan manages and monitors the loan portfolio. Prior to his current role, Abhijnan worked as a Manager at Genpact India. Abhijnan started his career as a Credit Analyst in IDBI Bank, India, one of the largest banks in India in industrial lending space.
Peter NordbergGeneral Counsel
Peter provides legal counsel in mergers & acquisitions, debt and equity financing, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate structuring. Peter began his career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York, and brings more than eight years of experience in private equity, venture capital, mergers & acquisitions, and tax to Global Bankers Capital.
Peter has an LLM in Taxation from New York University and a JD from Notre Dame Law School.
Dillon ReddingDebt Finance Counsel
Dillon is responsible for the legal review and documentation of debt finance transactions at Global Bankers Capital. Prior to joining GBC, Dillon practiced as a debt finance attorney focused on private equity and leveraged lending at Credit Suisse, a global financial institution. Dillon received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Michael is responsible for underwriting credit investments. He was most recently an Associate at Anvil Advisors, leading valuations of venture-backed technology companies for the firm. Michael has also held positions at Optima Fund Management’s fund-of-funds research team and at ABN AMRO’s investment banking team. Michael holds a B.S. in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Brian Smith Director of Underwriting
Brian is responsible for capital market activities at Global Bankers Capital. Prior to joining GBC, Brian was a Vice President at BB&T, focusing on middle market lending across a broad range of industries and CRE construction lending for multi-family, office, retail and SFR projects. Upon joining BB&T, Brian worked in the distressed credit group. He began his career as an analyst at Fifth Third Bank. Brian received a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and minor in Economics from Wofford College.
Devin SolowFinancial Analyst
Devin generates investment opportunities and analyzes potential structured investments at Global Bankers Capital. Additionally, he assists in managing the investment portfolios of our affiliated insurance companies. Devin received his BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan Flagler Business School with a second major in Mathematics and a minor in Mathematical Decision Sciences.
